about us

Help For a Community We Love

Since 1939, The Christian Mission has been a catalyst that empowers the community to become advocates and serve those in need to achieve an improved quality of life. We engage the community to recognize and remove barriers and challenge how society views poverty. Through collaboration with the community, the Mission exists to break the cycle of poverty by providing crisis assistance, case management, and educational programming.

our services

Crisis assistance

To ensure food security for our clients, we provide access to our full pantry twice per month. Clients can also use our Resource Store to obtain free clothing and household goods.

The Christian Mission also offers rent and utility assistance to prevent homelessness and utility disconnections.

Ongoing stabilization

Once a trust-built relationship is formed, the Mission provides ongoing stabilization through Case Management, Senior Companions, transportation assistance, and referrals.

Individual betterment

When clients are ready, the Mission runs individual betterment programs, including poverty alleviation programming for all ages (NETworX), mentoring, skill building, and substance use support (e.g. education, treatment, mental health, and peer support).

our impact

In fiscal year 2023, your support made it possible for The Christian Mission to provide food, clothing, shelter, life skills, and educational programming to over 4,000 individuals and families in Southern Iredell County. We prevented 481 evictions and utility shut-offs, allowing individuals and families to remain safe and healthy in their homes.

Together, we continued to provide the most vulnerable in our community with the skills and resources needed to move from a place of crisis to stability.

Thank you for choosing to partner with us in our mission to break the cycle of poverty in our community.
